Nixon

Originally from Haiti and raised in the Jacmel valley, he draws his inspiration from a rich cultural heritage, nurtured from an early age by the musical universe of his family, the performing arts, and community activities.

He developed a passion for music early on, first learning on his cousin’s guitar before refining his skills in music school. His career took a decisive turn when he won the Haïti Fondation Jazz competition with the songs Madan Sara and Bitasyon—true odes to nature that would go on to define his artistic identity.

In early 2025, Jean Nixon Damis joined the group REZO Mizik, bringing his experience and energy to this young, dynamic ensemble. He took his first steps on stage with the group during international performances in Saint Martin and the Bahamas, marking another major milestone in his artistic journey.
